What is Austin Under Forty (Au40)?
Au40 was founded in 1997 by the Young Men's Business League and the Young Women's Alliance to recognize young men and women in Austin who excel in their professional fields and make considerable contributions to the community.
What do proceeds from the Austin Under Forty Awards benefit?
All proceeds benefit the Austin Sunshine Camps and Young Women's Alliance Foundation—501(c)(3) non-profit organizations that strive to build a better future for today’s youth through education and leadership programs.
How may I sign up for your mailing list so I am made aware of future events?
Visit www.austinunder40.org, where you will find a link to become a “Friend of Au40.” Simply fill out the related form to add your name to our list.
How can I sponsor the event or make a cash donation?
All sponsorship and donations are greatly appreciated! Please contact sponsors@austinunder40.org for more information.
How can I donate a silent auction item?
Contact auction@austinunder40.org to request a Silent Auction Donor Form. We are happy to answer any questions and help you brainstorm creative donor opportunities. Donor forms are due by February 11, 2008; all donations are tax deductible.
How are category winners and “Austinite of the Year” chosen?
Au40 nominations are open to the public. The 2008 nominations closed on January 23, 2008, and nominees were judged 50% on community commitment and 50% on professional excellence. Fifty finalists were announced on January 30, 2008, and from these finalists, ten category winners will be selected on the same criteria. Of the category winners, the one who possesses an unmatched dedication, passion, and spirit to create opportunities and make the impossible possible will be named “Austinite of the Year.”
How do I know if I (or a friend) am/is named a finalist/winner?
Finalists will be posted at www.austinunder40.org as of Wednesday, January 30, 2008. Category winners and “Austinite of the Year” will be announced at the 10th Annual Austin Under Forty Awards event on Friday, March 7, 2008 at the Austin Music Hall.
ABOUT THE 2008 EVENT
When is the 10th Annual Austin Under Forty Awards?
Friday, March 7, 2008. Join us for cocktail hour and the silent auction at 7pm. Dinner and the awards presentation will begin promptly at 8:15pm.
Where will the event be held?
In honor of the first Au40 awards in 1997, the 2008 event will be held at the newly renovated Austin Music Hall, located downtown at 208 Nueces.
Where may I purchase tickets to the 10th Annual Austin Under Forty Awards?
Ticket sales are open to the public on a first come, first served basis. Individual tickets and table sales are available online at www.austinunder40.org.
What forms of payment does Au40 accept?
Credit card payments using Master Card, Visa, or American Express are accepted for ticket purchases online at www.austinunder40.org. Credit cards, checks and cash will be accepted at the event for silent auction item purchases and donations.
Where do I park?
There are numerous metered parking spots within walking distance, and a parking garage is located at the corner of 2nd and San Antonio streets.
What should I wear?
The event is not “Black Tie,” but we encourage you to dress to impress—suit and tie for men, cocktail dress attire for women.
Will alcoholic beverages be available?
A full cash bar will be open.
Are vegetarian meals available?
Yes. When purchasing your ticket online, you may select a vegetarian meal.
Will an ATM be available at the event?
Yes.
When and where is the VIP reception?
The VIP reception will be held on the 2nd floor balcony of the Austin Music Hall from 6 to 7pm on Friday, March 7, 2008.
Who may attend the VIP reception?
The VIP reception is to honor Au40 sponsors and finalists. An invitation is required.
